“All About Bugs!” is a series of ongoing student-led educational community engaged events for K-8 students established by myself and fellow Natural Enemy Management Application (NEMA) Lab members at the University of North Carolina at Asheville (UNCA). Multiple visual art and interactive projects/activities related to entomology were created over three semesters across various locations for over 200 students at a time. Projects were designed to accommodate all learning types by integrating auditory, visual, and textural activities at the events.
The purpose of these events was to assist the Natural Enemy Management Application (NEMA) Lab increase community awareness around topics in entomology. The activities included in this project were designed to educate students about insects and soil invertebrates through various forms of interactive media and kinesthetic stimulation.
Multiple visual art and interactive projects/activities related top entomology were created throughout three semesters at various locations for 200+ students at a time. Projects were designed to accommodate all learning types by integrating auditory, visual, and textural activities.
